Shimkus Endorsed by U.S. Chamber

“Plain and simple, John Shimkus is an effective conservative who is laser-focused on governing.  We are honored to add our endorsement in partnership with the Illinois Chamber of Commerce,” said Maggie Sheely of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber endorsement of Congressman John Shimkus was announced at Kingery Printing Company in Effingham on Thursday with Sheely in attendance.

In its official letter announcing their endorsement, the Chamber noted, “It is the Chamber’s goal to help elect a pro-business majority in Congress and work diligently in support of the interests of businesses to advance legislation that encourages economic growth, job creation, and a less intrusive federal government.”

Shimkus stated, “I am very proud to receive the Chamber’s endorsement. They understand something I say often: to have employees you must have employers.

“In addition, my positions relating to increasing our domestic energy production, reducing government intrusion – whether that’s EPA or another federal agency, and fiscal responsibility all help create a stable environment for employers,” Shimkus added.

The Chamber summarized their support for John Shimkus, “We believe that your re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives will help produce sustained economic growth, help create jobs, and get our country back on track.”
