Southern Illinois is known for its agriculture, fueling not only our state, but the country. It is important that the agriculture sector is strong and that we protect our farmers’ ability to manage their farms without burdensome government regulations. After all, they know farming better than Washington does.

The first bill John passed addressed the expansion of the use of biodiesel, benefiting soybean farmers in Illinois and across the nation. He has been a consistent champion of biofuels, tax issues, and international sales that benefit our farmers.

A leader on agricultural policy, John was named to the 2018 Farm Bill conference committee and is advocating for a farm bill specifically benefitting Illinois.

John knows the importance of negotiating favorable trade agreements for our Illinois farmers, and is working with President Trump to secure fair treatment and access to new markets for our farmers.
