Meet John

John Shimkus has dedicated his life to public service. John has served in the Army, as a high school teacher, and as a county treasurer, and is proud to serve as your Representative for the 15th District of Illinois.

His public service began when he graduated from West Point in 1980. After attending Airborne and Ranger school, John went on to serve as a U.S. Army infantry officer for six years followed by serving in the U.S. Army Reserves. John has always stayed true to his common-sense conservative principles.

John is not afraid to stand up for Southern Illinois values.
